If faith is the currency of heaven then the promises of God are the treasure that faith is designed to possess. The Kingdom functions when precious faith lays hold of precious promises. They were never meant to be separated. Our Great God has given us exceedingly great and precious Promises that we can live by and live on for the rest of our days. In order to live this way, it starts with knowing what those heavenly promises are.

Welcome to the Kingdom Conversation Podcast, where we are transforming ordinary minds into a kingdom mindset. I am your podcast host, Quentin Jones. Thank you so much for listening to today's episode. I'm very excited to get out what is in me as I continue on this study in 2nd Peter chapter one. Before we get to that, I wanted to let you know, you know, I shared this on my social media. I don't know for friends on social media, um, you know, or or or what that looks like, but I shared this on social media um not too long ago. I was blown away by um my podcast and how far that it is reaching. I wasn't aware of it, and I truly give all the glory to God. Um, I think I'm an okay preacher, I'm an okay teacher, and yet I still have much more room to grow. I still believe that I haven't preached my best sermon yet. And so I believe that. I know that I'm doing good things, but I know that God has amazing things in store for me as I am, you know, continually obeying the Lord. But I saw that my podcast has a global consistent reach to Vietnam, to Singapore, Germany, Peru, Spain, Mexico, United Kingdom, Ecuador, India, Italy, Lithuania, Guatemala, Bangladesh, Bangladesh. I don't know who's listening to me in Bangladesh, but more power to you. Glory to God. I speak the blessings of God over you. Canada, Chile, Brazil, Venezuela, Pakistan, Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Belarus, Uruguay, Moldova. I don't even know where Moldova is at, but you're on my list. Hallelujah. Kenya, shout out to my people in Kenya, Colombia, Ethiopia, Dominican Republic, Isle of Man. I don't know where the Isle of Man is, but hey, shout out to you. Glory to God. The Russian Federation. I mean, someone is listening to me in Russia. What? Man, this is something only God can do. The uh Jordan, Lativia, Oman, Bolivia, Iraq, Nepal, Paraguay, Netherlands, Panama, Puerto Rico, Cote de Vior. I can't even pronounce that. Algeria, Indonesia, El Salvador, Guyana, Egypt. Seriously, I just read all of the territories and countries that this podcast is reaching to. Man, God is so good. God is so faithful. And the thing is, it's not about me, it's about God's word that is getting out from a little old place in Ratcliffe, Kentucky, because someone like me just obeyed God. And so I want that to encourage someone. Just do what the Lord told you to do. If you focus on obeying God, He'll take you to the nations. And so thank you so much for listening again from wherever you're listening from. Take a moment, give this a five-star rating on whatever platform you're listening to, and do me a favor, share this with one or two people, right? Listen, we all have a sphere, we all have a circle, and so every single episode is, you know, it's specific by the Holy Ghost. And if you know someone that's in your circle, or maybe you, you know, you had a conversation, you were encouraging someone in the Lord, and this is the topic, take a moment, share this with somebody because it's not about me, it's about the word of God that is getting out to create disciples all over the nations. And so, you know, as we get ready to jump into this episode, um, the previous episode was called the preciousness of faith, the preciousness of faith. And I and I took some time in the last episode um to help understand or you know lay down this uh this understanding of the value of faith, how to protect our faith, and more importantly, how to grow our faith. And so I thought for me, in my opinion, I thought it was a pretty good teaching. And so as I was reading 2 Peter, there was more revelation that I received from the Holy Spirit that literally jumped off the page I never saw before. And so today's episode, so in the previous episode, I taught on the preciousness of faith, but today's episode, I want to talk to you about the precious promises of God, the precious promises of God, and so I want to read the verse to you that I was reading, and our staff, you know, I'm the uh associate pastor at Abundant Life Church in Radcliffe, Kentucky, and Monday through Thursday, because that's our our our staff hours. We meet every morning, we have a devotion and we pray together. We, you know, we um speak over the vision. Well, I was reading in 2 Peter when you know this verse jumped off, 2 Peter 1. Simon Peter, a bond servant, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who have obtained like precious faith, like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ. And I read that and that jumped off the page to me when I was talking to the staff. Precious faith. And so, you know, that's why I started the last episode. Well, as I kept reading, then I saw something that I didn't realize that what Peter called out before. So let's keep reading. Verse 2 grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as his divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by the glory and virtue. Here it is, verse four. Here's the key. By which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. That made my jaw hit the floor. Because in verse one, Peter talks about obtaining like precious faith. In verse four, he says, We have been given exceedingly great and precious promises. Listen to me. If faith is the currency of the kingdom, currency means money and means that it has value. If faith is the currency of the kingdom, then the promises of God are the treasures that faith is designed to possess. If faith is the currency of the kingdom, then the promises of God are the treasures that faith are designed to possess. Faith means that you can buy. Watch. So in my mind right now, I think about currency is the ability to buy, sell, and trade. So I'm putting faith within this three-pronged mindset from what I'm just talking right now. Faith allows you to buy, to sell, and to trade. Well, if faith is a currency of kingdom, then what can you buy? The promises of God. Without the promises of God, then there is nothing to obtain or to grab a hold of. Faith without promises has nothing to stand on. Peter is laying this consistent foundation in 2 Peter chapter 1 of precious faith that is connected to exceedingly great and precious promises. The kingdom functions. Listen to me. The kingdom functions when precious faith lays a hold of precious promises. Let me say that again. Say this with me. The kingdom functions when precious faith lays a hold of precious promises. Peter is not using the word precious casually. What does the word precious mean? So let's again, let's not necessarily rehash or repeat that, but you know, uh, actually, I want to get to first exceedingly great, and then we're gonna then step into this uh precious promises. And so if you if you look at the way that I'm looking at this from 2 Peter chapter 1, going down to verse 4. In verse 1, he calls out precious faith. In verse 3, he says, divine power has given us everything we need, uh uh, everything that we need that pertains to life and godliness. Verse 4, he says, exceedingly great and precious promises. And then he says that this has been done so that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. Now notice this. I don't look at these as just powerful verses, I look at this as a kingdom progression. This is a progression that he has laid out for us, right? From faith to divine power to exceedingly great and precious promises to partakers of the divine nature. So, what's that progression look like to you and me? God has given us precious faith so that we can operate under his divine power, that in order that we would receive his precious promises, and that through these promises we would become partakers of his divine nature. Let me say that again. This is not just a powerful set of verses, but rather what I have uncovered and my study and teaching, instruction, and not revelation, this is more of a kingdom progression. God gives precious faith so we can operate under his divine power in order that we would receive his precious promises, and that through those promises we would become partakers of his divine nature. Peter is showing us that this progression is actually a transformation. It's a transformation that through believing and possessing God's promises. As Christians, as believers, as men of God, women of God, as preachers of his word, as teachers of his word, as brothers and sisters in Christ. And I don't care if you're a five-fold title, I don't care if you're just now getting saved, I don't care if you've been in church for 20 years. Listen to me. As believers, we do not live by explanations, we live by promises. And because of those promises that come from an unchanging God, they are as secure today as the moment that they were spoken yesterday. Do you know that faith does not adhere to time? Who was, I believe it was Elijah. Because of Elijah's faith, time stopped. If faith made time stop, then listen to me. That means faith does not adhere to time. Believers live by promises, and because those promises come from an unchanging God, just as much as they were spoken yesterday, they are relevant even today. Here's what I see Peter places precious faith and precious promises side by side, like macaroni cheese, like peanut butter jelly, you know what I'm saying? Like ham hog. Come on now. Chicken and waffles. Hey, all of the greatest combination. Listen, you know what one of my favorite combinations is? Every time I cook ribs, I gotta have cold macaroni salad. I don't know why. Something about ribs and cold macaroni salad and baked beans on the plate makes me just, man, go crazy out here. Listen to me. It's a great side by side. Peter takes. Now listen, I want you to do what I'm doing right now. I want you to take your left hand, open it, and I want you to look at it. And one hand is precious faith. Now I want you to take your right hand, open it, and also face towards you. And now you should have both your palms, your hands facing you. On the left side is precious faith. On the right side is precious promises. And he put them side by side because they were never meant to be separated. Trying to separate precious faith from precious promises is like trying to separate God's presence from his power. You cannot separate God's presence from his power. I received that revelation from Pastor Jonathan Schulersworth when he was here and he spoke about a year, maybe two years ago. I don't know. He said something that even I have preached, and when he said that, I realized that what I said was missing revelation. But thank God we we preach from the revelation of what we know. And this is a reason why the Bible says we go from faith to faith, glory to glory, and revelation to revelation. Hallelujah. And so I don't look at that as if I was preaching in error, I was only preaching short of the revelation of what he that of what he gave me from his revelation. Because I used to preach, I want God's, you know, I want God's presence, but not at the expense of his power, right? I separated that in my preaching. You know, how many want God's presence, or, you know, you know, people want God's power, but you know, I don't want to lose his presence. And he came and he said, You cannot separate God's presence from his power because it is who he is. It's like trying to split him in two. When he said that one statement, even if it never shook anyone else, it shook me. It shook me in my seat. And ever since that revelation, this is why I'm telling you, Peter, and one hand, precious faith. And the other hand, precious promises. They're side by side because you cannot separate them. You can't separate them. But they set one, they set the other one up. Hallelujah. I didn't went through because this has been blowing my mind as I've been reading Peter. I actually found a couple of examples where I can prove to you. Every major work that God did started or began with a promise. Listen to me. The scriptures are proof that almost every major work that God started or how it be or when it began, it began with a promise. And then it went through a season of testing and then it culminated in fulfillment. Someone say promise. Say promise. Yes, I'm talking to you about the precious promises of God. Let me give you these couple of examples where I'm going to stitch this together, and then I'm going to talk to you about the promises of God and how we live by what heaven has spoken to you and me. Let me give you these examples where I can prove it to you. Every major work started with a promise. What about this one? Do you know that Noah built the ark because of a promise? God promised that it was going to rain, but God also promised in Genesis chapter 6, verses 13 through 22, that his family would be safe. God gave Noah the promise of safety. When the waters rescinded after 40 days and 40 nights, in Genesis chapter 9, verses 8 through 17, God gave him another promise that because of the rainbow, I promised I would never destroy the earth because of flood again. So notice this Noah built because of her promise. He was given a promise of safety, and because of that, God gave her a promise of the rainbow. Listen, the promise of God. In Genesis chapter 12, Abraham journeyed because of her promise. In Genesis chapter 12, God spoke to Abraham, said, Get up, leave thy family, leave thy kindred, and go to a place that I will show you. In the later verses, he says, I'm gonna make your name great. You're gonna have so your descendants will be blessed, right? I'm gonna bless those who bless you, I'm gonna curse those who curse you. Abraham left from where he was at because of a promise. What about this one? Joseph endured because of a promise. In Genesis chapter 50, when Joseph was lied on, uh, you know, he was hated by his family, thrown into a pit, brought to the palace, lied on again, then promoted again, then he saw his brothers, and then when his brothers and they all hugged and cried, in Genesis 50, verse 20, he said, Don't you fret and don't you feel sad any longer? Hallelujah. Because what the enemy meant for evil, God turned it for good. Joseph endured because of a promise that God gave him in a dream. What about David? Do you know that David waited because of a promise? David, when he was a young lad, was found by Samuel. This is he was found by Samuel, was anointed by Samuel, but according to the book of 2 Samuel, he had to wait 15 years for the throne. David waited for the throne. He had the promise of the throne, but he didn't see it until 15 years later. I didn't even talk about Abraham and how long he waited until the promise of a son and Isaac was born. Hold up now. Don't get me preaching in the studio because let me tell you something. I'm not trying to preach, but I feel the excitement coming on me right now. Then in 2 Samuel chapter 7 for David, God then gave David a promise. It's the promise of a never-ending lineage and succession. That was by Jesus Christ. David waited because of a promise and was given a promise attached to his lineage that resulted in Jesus Christ from his loins. Man, man, man, God is good. What about this one? Do you know that Mary conceived because of her promise? Mary conceived because of her promise. The Messiah was promised in Isaiah chapter 14 that the Messiah would be born from a virgin. Do you know what happened? It was so. Do you know that the apostles be uh preached because of a promise? They were giving the promise of empowerment. Jesus commanded his disciples, listen to me, Acts chapter 1, verse 4 and 5. Don't leave Jerusalem, but wait for the power and the gift of the Holy Spirit, which would then give them power to preach to the ends of the earth. It was then fulfilled in what we call the day of Pentecost in Acts chapter 2. They were filled with the Holy Spirit and they began to speak in other tongues. Do you know that then in Acts chapter 2, verse 38 and 39, Peter then got up and proclaimed that the Holy Spirit was a promise available to all who repented and believed. What is the key? It was a promise to all. Promise to all. Listen to me. Listen, because this is this is stirring in me right now. It really is. Even the apostles, when the book, when the Holy Ghost fell, they may not have solved it then, but this is how we see it now. The apostles were proof of the fulfillment of the prophetic promises found in the scriptures about Jesus coming and then and then releasing the Holy Spirit. And now they go and they took the message of repentance, the forgiveness of sins, and faith in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. That now they taught it to the nations. Pastor Q, what are you saying? Every major work of God started with a promise. Noah built because of her promise. Abram journeyed because of her promise. Joseph endured because of her promise. David waited for the throne because of her promise. Mary conceived because of her promise. The apostles preached because of a promise of the Holy Spirit. And listen to me. And every single promise it was fulfilled. Hallelujah. Glory to God. And 2 Peter and chapter 1, verse 4, by which we have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises. So I want to give you point number one as I continue just to uh connect this bridge of precious faith and precious promises. Number one, how should we see the promises of God? Number one, we should see them as exceedingly great. Peter just doesn't call them promises, by the way. I don't know what translation you're reading. I'm looking at the New King James Version, right? By which we have been given to us exceedingly, exceedingly great. Hallelujah. When Peter called them great, this is what it means. He means it was the greatest, it was supreme, it was the highest, it was beyond comparison. And he's telling us that these, the promises that God gives, are not ordinary promises. They're heaven's greatest treasures. We do not have ordinary promises. Noah was not given an ordinary promise. Mary was not given an ordinary promise. Joseph and Moses and all these individuals, even people who I haven't even touched, were not given an ordinary promise. They were given a promise that God said it's going to happen, and by faith you must believe their promise. And watch. It's not just a promise. They are exceedingly great promises. Now, why? Why does he call them exceeding prop exceedingly great promises? Because every promise contains God's ability. When God promises healing, his healing power accompanies the promise. When God promises provision, his provision accompanies the promise. When God promises uh breakthrough, his breakthrough accompanies the promise. Notice everything that we live and what we preach and what we teach and what we walk in is because of the promise that is in the scriptures, and we by faith lay a hold of the promise, believe the promise, receive the promise, and watch the promise unfold in our life. God never promises what he cannot produce. God cannot promise what he cannot produce. Every promise, every promise is something that was for you and I. God never promises what he cannot produce. When I think of exceedingly great, you know, you know what I think of? Ephesians chapter 3, verse 20. Now to him, this is what the amplified classic said. Now to him, who by in consequence of the action of the power that is at work within us is able to carry out his purpose and do superabundantly. Another translation says, exceedingly. Listen, to do exceedingly, far over and above that we dare ask, think which is indefinite beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams. This exceedingly great promises is attached to Ephesians chapter 3, verse 20. Now to him who is able. Guess what? It's not because of me of the exceedingly, but it's because of God. We serve a exceedingly, abundantly, far above God. And it's not just the power in which he can do it, but the promises are proof of his power. Hallelujah. Man, man, oh man. I'm I'm about to preach myself happy. So, what's number one? How should we see these promises as exceedingly great? Number two, how else should we see these promises as precious promises? The last episode was precious faith. This one is precious promises. This is the same exact word that Peter used for faith. What is precious means valuable, costly, honored, priceless. So you can look at it by saying valuable promises, costly promises, honored promises, prices promises. And so Peter literally connects precious faith with precious promises because they both possess or they they they bring a kingdom value. Where there is faith, there is currency. And where there's currency, that means there's value of something. So, you know, you know, to one, you know that phrase that that you may or may not heard. It just depends where where you live. Because now I'm seeing that my podcast is literally reaching into the places I've never even seen. But in the mighty name of Jesus, I'm gonna come there, I'm gonna preach the gospel, and and in the same way I'm teaching and preaching now, I can see myself standing before millions of people preaching the gospel and helping to transform churches, transform leaders from ordinary minds into a kingdom mindset as we go about our father's business. Now, listen, here in America, we have a phrase another man's trash is another man's treasure. So when you think about faith and it's your currency, there is a value that is attached. You and I must see value in precious faith, and we must see value in the promises of God. And so, what does heaven value? Heaven values faith, heaven values the word of God, heaven values the blood, the name of Jesus, the presence of God. So, all of these things, and some of these things are just rattling in my spirit, these are priceless commodities. Notice I said priceless. There is a value, but my question is listen, if you uh place uh something that that has the highest value as priceless, then you'll never sell. I think about the story of Jacob and Esau in the book of Genesis. Um, it it should have been Esau was the firstborn, but Esau sold uh sold his birthright for a bowl of lentil soup. And Jacob, through the help of his mother, helped trick uh um his father so that that way Jacob could then receive that. So, what I'm pointing to is that Esau did not see his birthright as priceless, he saw it for a value that he was willing to sell it for. It was worth a bowl of soup. So when it comes to faith, when it comes to the word, the blood, the name of Jesus, the presence of God, maybe the call of God, um, maybe the vision that God has given you, these are these to you and I should be priceless commodities that they are not for sale. Hey, say this with me. I'm not for sale. Say it again. I'm not for sale. Say, my faith is not for sale. Say the word of God is not for sale. That's right, it's not for sale. What you and I have and what God has given us, this precious faith and precious promises, these are priceless commodities. They are not for sale. So now here is my point number three, then for you. If you're if you're listening, maybe you're running on a treadmill, maybe you're walking. I'm telling you, just listen to me. I'm gonna talk. You work, you wash dishes, you clean, you take care of the kids. I don't know. You just listen, let me do the teaching and preaching. Because the truth is, I just like to figure this out as I'm teaching and preaching, right? And so right now, the Holy Spirit is speaking to me, but there's revelation coming to me because of the word of God. Here's here's also now what I have discovered. Uh from uh point number three. Number three is this God's promises reveal his character. God's promises reveal his character. God never separates himself from his word. Remember, trying to separate God's presence from his power is like trying to separate God from his word, is no different than trying to separate God's uh from faith from promises. These are inseparable. You cannot, God will never separate himself from his own word. Because you know why? Because what he promises, it reveals who he is. Hebrews chapter 10, verse 23. Let me turn there in my Bible. Hebrews chapter 10, verse 23, New King James Version. Let us hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering. For he, capital H. I don't know what translation that that you are using. My translation in the NKJV, which is a New King James Version, is a capital H. This tells you and I that it's referring to the deity or the power of God. So it's not a lowercase, uh it's not a lowercase h. It's a capital H. For he who promised is faithful. So the emphasis of Hebrews 10 23 is not merely on the promise, but it's also on the one who made the promise. So notice God, you know, God can't separate himself from his word, and what he promises, it reveals his very nature. So the Hiri word, often translated for the promise or describing what God has spoken, literally means to say, to declare, to command, and speak with authority. Again, the Hebrew word for promise, which is the which is the Greek word amar, literally means to say, declare, command, and speak with authority. Whenever God speaks, his character stands behind his word. Whenever God speaks, his character stands behind his word. Let me show you this verse right here. It's important to notice. Numbers chapter 23, verse 19. Numbers 23, 19. God is not a man. Listen, God is not a man. There's number one. God is not a man. I know man has failed you. I know man may have deceived you. Maybe man has lied to you. Maybe man has stabbed you in the back. Maybe man didn't show up when they said that they were going to show up. Maybe man said that they would never leave you, but then they let you. I don't know your situation. But God is not a man, comma, that he should lie, nor a son of a man that he should repent. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken and will he not make it good? Glory to God. Every promise that God has given to you and me, what is what is the promise of God? The word of God. If you want to know God's promises from the book of Genesis to the book of Revelation, it is his promises. Even right now, you can read it and say, Well, you know, they were all given promises, and you know, eventually they saw it. Hold up. We're actually still living in unfulfilled promises. You say, what's that mean? He promised that he's going to come back again. Hallelujah. We have a promise as the Ecclesia church that Jesus is going to call us up. We're going to meet him in the sky. There's going to be the rapture. Then it's going to be, you know, what we call the seven-year tribulation. And we're going to come back to the great battle of Armageddon, and there's going to be a battle. We are living right now in un yet unfulfilled promises. We're no different than those prophets of old who for thousands of years prophesied of a Messiah. And yet they all kept saying the same thing. I've even heard grown adults say this. Man, even my mama, my her mama, and then her mama, they've all been saying Jesus is coming back soon. So because people have heard the same thing for 50, 70, 100, 200 years, they think that it's a lie. I'm trying to tell you something. I'm trying to tell you, God is not a man, comma, that he should lie. Has he said, and will he not do it? And what he has spoken, will he not make it good? Every single promise is backed by God's integrity. Listen, you can trust God. He's still moving, He's still proving, He's still healing, He's still working. God is not a liar. Whatever you're facing, and maybe you feel like that you haven't seen the promise. I want you to say this out loud. God is not a man and he shall do it. He's not a liar. I know man has failed you, but God is not a liar. God is the most integral. Uh sorry, that was the wrong word. Let me uh use the proper grammar. I'm not the best at grammar. Hallelujah. Sometimes I don't pronounce my words correctly, or I stutter. And so I'm sorry. Let's say it like this to make it simple. I've yet to meet a man who has as much integrity as God. Man has failed me left and right, north and south, east and west, every day. God has never failed me. That's why I serve him. Amen. So, what was number one? We have exceedingly great promises. Number two, we have been given precious promises. Number three, God's promises reveal his character. Number four, here's point number four for you. Every promise was purchased. God's promises are free to us, but they were very costly to Christ. Let's look at this verse. Second Corinthians, I'm turning there as well. 2 Corinthians chapter 1, verse 20. 2 Corinthians 1 20. For all the promises of God in him, capital H. For all, all, for all the promises. Not some, not most, not a few, not a spare, not not not rare. Listen to me. I'm not trying to insult your intelligence. I'm building faith right now, not only uh in you, but in me as well. For all for all the promises of God in capital H H are yes. And in him, amen to the glory of God through us. Don't you know that the promises of God must be fulfilled through us? If the promises of God are not fulfilled through us, then it looks like that God is dead. Remember, when when uh God got angry at the children of Israel and God wanted to kill them in the wilderness, Moses had to say, now God, you probably shouldn't do that because if you kill us, people are gonna say, see, look, that that God led them out, that God killed them or let them die, and then therefore they're gonna talk bad about you. That's what Moses had to tell God. Listen to me. The children of Israel being being moved from Egypt to the promised land was proof that God kept his promise, even though it took 40 years. Hello. The promises of God occur or are fulfilled through us, but in him they are yes and they are amen. Notice this the promises of God are yes, they are not a no. The promises of God are yes, not a maybe. The promises of God are yes, yes. Every promise that you read, you must say yes out of your mouth. You must say yes in your mind, you have to say yes in your spirit, you have to say yes with your eyes, you have to say yes with your ears. You have to get away from people who try to make their promises of God or maybe. Well, it only works in Israel, it doesn't work here. Well, it worked in the book of Acts, but it doesn't work in Kentucky. Well, it works in the in the in in in Mexico, but it doesn't work in Canada. Well, it works in you know Peru, but it doesn't work in Bangladesh. I don't know where you're listening to, but you have to eliminate that from your vocabulary, from your mind, from your prayer, because we serve the same God, the same God, with the same hand, with the same power, with the same authority, with the same power, with the same promises. He's the same God who's omnipresent, omnipowerful, and in him they are yes, and in him they are amen. Do you know what happens when you say amen? Amen means so be it. Listen to me. Because of Jesus, listen, because of Jesus, every promise has been guaranteed. Isaiah chapter 53. Isaiah chapter 53. I'm gonna show you. I'm gonna show you this. Hallelujah. I feel like I'm teaching good. I feel good, I feel good. Isaiah 53, verse 4. Surely he has borne our griefs. Now, this is amazing because remember, this is the prophetic word of Isaiah regarding Jesus. This is amazing. Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows. Yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement for our peace was upon him, and by his stripes we are healed. So let me tell you what the promises that belong to you. Healing. Healing belongs to me, peace belongs to me, forgiveness belongs to me, restoration belongs to me, deliverance belongs to me. You know why? Because they were all purchased at Calvary. When Jesus died on that cross and resurrected, he bought something for uh for you and my peace of mind, sanity, not insanity, healing, not sickness, uh, uh peace, not disturbance, forgiveness, not unforgiveness, restoration, not loss or prodigal, deliverance, not bound. All of these were purchased. And Isaiah gave a promise, and the promise was fulfilled because of Jesus. And if you are in Christ, then you are also in the promise. Hallelujah. To be in Christ is to be in the promises that was given, spoken over Christ, about Christ, regarding Christ. And when you are in Christ, you get to walk in the promises that are attached to Christ. Man, I'm preaching right now. I'm telling you about faith. Faith does not have to try to convince God, you just received what Christ has purchased. What was number four? Every promise was purchased. For the promises of God in him are yes and they are amen. Stop saying no and stop saying maybe. Just say yes to the promise. Don't let people try to flip it. Well, you know, that's them Pentecostals, or that's them, you know, non-denominational. There's those, you know, word of faith people who preach this, you know, prosperity, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Let me tell you something. Throw out that crap. Because at the end of the day, the word of God is the promise of God. And the Bible says that God is no respecter of persons. So if God did it for um for Noah, he'll do it for Quentin. If God did it for Abraham, he'll do it for Quentin. If God did it for uh for Mary, he'll do it for Quentin. If God did it for Joseph, he'll do it for Quentin. If God did it for Moses, he'll do it for Quentin. If God did it for Peter, James, and John, then he'll do it for Quentin. Notice this everything in this scripture, I'm trying to tell you, if he did it for one, he will do it for another. And I I just believe that. All these people getting blessed, all these people that God is using, all these people that flipped cities upside down and took the word of God to the nations. If God did it for Paul, who did it by a boat? I'm sorry, why can I not do that in the time of technology of an airplane? That in a matter of a couple of hours, I can be in a total another nation, whereas Paul had to be be taken by chains on the boat across the sea and crash. Yeah, I'd rather not be on a carnival cruise trying to get to one nation. I I'm good. And if God could do that through Paul, why can he not do that through you and me? That's what I'm trying to tell you. Everything I see is a promise that was fulfilled. And I want to help God to fulfill his promises that he can't return until every nation has heard. That's the promise that we carry today. God will not come back until every single nation, everyone has heard the gospel. We are living in that promise that has yet to be fulfilled, but that's why we're working towards it. Amen. Here's number five. Here's number five. Satan cannot cancel God's promises. Listen to me. Satan cannot cancel God's promises. He can only attempt to separate you and my from you and me from believing them. Remember, and in the last teaching, you had to go back and look at it because I detailed how Satan gets after faith. And so, in the same manner, let me tell you how how Satan tries to get after God's promises. He attacks confidence. Notice Satan cannot bruise or attack God's ability. He has to attack your and I's confidence in God's ability to deliver on what he has promised. In Genesis chapter 3, in the garden, Satan came as a serpent. And what did he tell them? What did God really say? The first temptation that you ever see in the scripture or in the scripture, excuse me, was against God's word. It was just to get them to doubt their confidence, to remember the promise of what uh what God gave Adam and Eve, that if they if they don't touch this or if they touch this, they shall live and they shall not die. Matthew chapter 4. When Jesus was was um was uh fasting and Satan come to tempt him. Every single temptation that Satan offered Jesus, Jesus answered back when it is written. Jesus defeated Satan with the promises. It wasn't just with the word, it has been written, it has been spoken. This is the this is how powerful promises are. Jesus literally defeated Satan with the promises of the word of God. What's interesting as I'm thinking about this, even the devil and Matthew 4 and or Luke 4, right? Even the devil quoted scriptures to Jesus. Even the devil knows scriptures, just because you know verses, it's not enough. Promises must be understood and believed. Oh, that's so good. Promises must be understood and believed. You must understand it. How can you believe what you don't understand? You have to first understand. This is a reason why I'm doing this podcast because I need the believers to understand what God has to say about a thing, and by faith, your faith is growing for you to believe it. Not in me, but in the word of God. So, what was number one? Exceedingly great promises. Number two, precious promises. Number three, God's promises reveal his character. Number four, every promise was purchased. Number five, Satan cannot cancel God's promises. Number six, delay is not denial. Delay is not denial. One of Satan's greatest weapons is discouragement during waiting. Oh man. Oh my goodness. If Satan has ever attacked me in almost more than any other areas, this right here. While I'm waiting, especially by the way I preach, all of a sudden, breakthrough right now, God of suddenlies. Man, let me tell you something. What happens when you respond to the altar because your faith says, okay, it's going to happen right now. It's going to happen right now. I'm going to be healed. I'm going to be healed. I'm going to be healed. And all of a sudden you walk away from the language of hands and nothing changed. Nothing happened. Ooh, we. That's then when they say, see, that was fake. Oh, see, that was all emotions. One of Satan's greatest tactics is discouragement during the waiting. Let's look at Hebrews chapter 6. Hebrews 6, verse 12. Actually, let's start in verse 11. Verse 11. And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end. That you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. Listen to me. Listen to me. But imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. Notice this thing. Faith plus patience inherits promises. I want you to look at this as a math problem. Faith plus patience equals inherited promises. Faith plus patience equals inherited promises. This is talking about the ability to endure, the ability to be set fast, the ability to have perseverance, remaining the same under pressure. And the thing is, every single person who I gave at the beginning, they all waited. Noah had to wait. Abraham had to wait. Joseph had to wait. David had to wait. Mary had to wait. The apostles had to wait. I'm trying to tell you something. Waiting has always been a part of God's process. I know we don't like to hear that sometimes, but I'm trying to tell you. Waiting is a part of God's process. Waiting is not the issue. What you do while you're waiting should be the focus. Are you praising while you're waiting? Are you worshiping while you're waiting? Are you fasting while you're waiting? Are you being faithful to attending church while you're waiting? Are you growing in Christ while you're waiting? Or are you doom? Are you gloom? Are you depressed? Are you oppressed? Are you skipping church? Are you not showing up to church groups? Are you no longer serving? It's not the waiting that's the issue. It's what you do while you're waiting that is the issue. Waiting has always been a part of God's process. All of these people who I gave you, they literally all had to wait. My, my, my. Stop being impatient because you don't see it now. According to Hebrews chapter 11, faith says, I already have it and I already receive it. So I talk like it, I think like it, and I walk like it. Man, man, man. Stop speaking negative about the waiting. Number seven. God's promises anchor the soul. God's promises anchor the soul. Let's look at this. Uh verses uh Hebrews chapter 6, 17, 18, and 19. Thus, God, this is Hebrews 6, 17 in the New King James Version. Thus, God, determining to show more abundantly to the heirs of promise, to the heirs of promise, the eat the um, ohmutable is the easy way for me to say it. The how his promises are immutable of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath, that by two immutable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us. Wow. God confirmed it by an oath, because it is impossible for God to lie. Hope is an anchor for the soul. Let me tell you how an anchor works. You know how an anchor works? An anchor is useless and not necessary when the seas are calm. Boats don't drop the anchor when it's clear skies. Boats, fishermen, captains of boats use anchors when it's storms. You don't use an anchor during calm storms or and calm seas, but in violent storms. Storms reveal whether we have an anchor or we're just simply walking in emotion. Storms reveal if you have dropped your anchor. If you're being tossed to and fro, well, you know, well, I guess I'm sick and I guess this is God's word for my life. No, that's not God's word. That's not the promises of God's word. That is proof that you have not dropped your anchor, and now you're being tossed to and fro, high and mighty, of the ways of life. Or what about this? Well, you know, I guess I'm just born this way. You know, this is just the way I'm going to be. I'm broke, I'm always gonna be broke. No, that's not God's word. You cannot say that because that's because that makes it seem like that God himself is a liar. You would never look at God in his face and call him a liar. So when we speak opposite of the promises, we are essentially saying that God, I think that you are a liar. And God says, I have confirmed it by an oath. It is impossible. He didn't say likely, he didn't say it's not likely for me to lie. He said, It is impossible. Let me tell you what impossible means. Impossible means this: it is impossible for me to get pregnant and to carry a baby to turn for nine months and birth the baby. It is impossible. I don't care if you change your name, I don't care if you try to change, you know, go have a sex change. It is impossible. It is impossible for Quentin Jones to have a baby. Listen to me. It is impossible for God to lie. That's how I put those in the same categories right there. In Psalms 119, he literally says, Remember your word unto your servant. Your word has given me life. And this is what David wrote. David survived the trials, the temptations, and everything. He made a mess of his life. But David survived because he had to remember the promises of God. My, my, my. Man, God's so good. What's number one? Exceeding in great. What's number two? Precious promises. Number three, God's promises reveal his character. Number four, every promise was purchased by Jesus. Number five, Satan cannot cancel God's promises. Number six, delay is not denial. Number seven, God's promises anchored or so. Hallelujah. And then I believe, let me see something here. Uh I gotta all just scribble. Yes, number eight, faith speaks the promise before it sees the promise. Faith speaks the promise before it sees it. Romans chapter 4, verse 17. Romans 4, 17. Romans 4, 17. I'm turning here in my Bible, on my tablet. As it is written, I've made you a father of many nations in the presence of him who believe. God who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did. God calls things that are not as though they were. This is what I was just telling you. Faith already possesses it. God calls things that are not as though they were. So here's my question: What in your life is not that should be is? God calls things as though they are not, as though they were. Your words because of the word of God. Not you, not your power, but the word of God that is at work in you. Because when you speak the word, the word is attached to the promise of what God said. So it's not Quentin that has the power to create realities with my words, but it's the power of God that's likened to a seed that is then wrapped up in a promise that then will do it. Hebrews 10, 23, hold fast to your confession. Hold fast to your confession. You know what that means? Agree with God. Faith refuses to change it. Let me tell you something. My circumstances may change, but my faith will not align to my circumstances. My faith aligns to the unchanging God of His unchanging word, of his unchanging promises. Circumstances lie. You feel good today, you don't feel good tomorrow. And then in the natural, you have money today, and then you got money issues tomorrow. Circumstances change, but God never changes. It's impossible for him to lie. It's impossible. Faith speaks the promise be before it ever sees it. Listen, you and I have to call those things that are not. Here's my question: What are you calling out in your life? It didn't say meditate on those things, it says call out. Call those things. Use your mouth. Use your motor. Use the launching pad. Use your sling. Use your mouth. And right now, whatever does not exist, begin to align to God's word. Call those things as though they were. Maybe if you're listening to me, that you that maybe you're broke, busted, and disgusted, and you got to say that in Jesus' name, I'm the head and not the town. I'm telling you, whether it's over marriage, whether it's in your business, I don't care what country you're living in, I don't care what church you're part of, maybe maybe you feel like that God has called you, but you feel like that you're in a place that no one believes in you. You know, what can little old me do? You have to get rid of that out of your your vocabulary. Because if you can use your mouth to speak about what you don't have and what you're lacking, why don't you use the same mouth to call those things that are not as though they were? That is what we have been commissioned to do in the mighty name of Jesus. So, how can we hold on to God's promises? Really quick, this is how we hold on to God's promises. Number one, know the promises. Ignorance leaves believers, will leave you vulnerable. Study what God has actually promises or what he has promised. Know the promises. Get in your word. Know what he says about money. Know what he says about health. Know what he says about land. Know what he says about the anointing. Know what he says. Don't listen, if you're a woman and you're around someone who says that you're not allowed to preach, you gotta shut them up because that's not the promise of God. That's not what God said. Know the promises of God. Ignorance will leave you vulnerable. Number two, believe the promises of God above your feelings. We walk by faith, not by sight, according to 2 Corinthians 5 7. Believe the promises above your feelings. Don't listen to your feelings. Listen to what the promise says, because when God spoke, it echoed into the world. And every promise was simply an echo that was predestined. We merely hear the echo of what God spoke when he said, Let there be light. Number three, speak the promises. Remember, call those things that are not as though they were. Speak the promises. Proverbs 18:21. Life and death are in the power of the tongue. Align your confession with God's words. Don't speak problems, speak the promises. Don't speak the what you're facing, speak what God is going to do. Number four, pray those same promises back to God. Like Moses, David, Daniel, the apostles, pray with scriptures as the foundations of your petitions. It's not the fact that you are just reminding God, you're reminding yourself of what God has said. I'm telling you, this is the reason why the Bible says that David had to encourage himself. Pray those promises back unto God. Keep yourself uplifted. I'm trying to tell you, I remember this couple that I knew is one of my good friends. They struggled financially. The wife took Bible scriptures and she put it on her fridge. She put it on their cabinet. So every time she opened the fridge, even though that they didn't have it yet, she would put a Bible verse on her fridge that says, you know, about supply or all of our needs are met. When she opened the cabinet, she would see it. She wrote verses on her mirror. She wrote it in their car. Everywhere she turned, they literally would say that verse out loud. Pray and speak those promises back unto God. Number five, wait with expectation. Faith and patience inherit the promises. Hebrews 6:12. Waiting is not passive, it is a confident endurance. Waiting is not the problem. What you're doing while you're waiting, that is what the real question is. Number six, remember God's faithfulness. Keep a record of answered prayers and fulfilled promises. I do this all the time. I took my kid one time, um, my daughter, I took her and um I took her to everywhere where uh where we lived when I was younger. Um we were very uh uh poor growing up. Um my mom was on Section 8 housing, um, which is basically government assistance. I probably have lived a life being evicted probably 10, 12 times. I've slept in a car before. I've been had no water, no electric, no utilities, you name it, right? And so I took my daughter one time and I showed her all these places where where we lived, and I detailed from the mental abuse to the sexual abuse from from even my own family. I detailed all of these things. And I'm and and and I was talking to her. Look how faithful God is, because the way you live today is proof that God is faithful. Keep a record of every answer prayer and fulfilled promises. You and I have to get back into the habit of rehearsing God's previous faithfulness because it's going to strengthen your future confidence. Rehearse what God has done. Hallelujah. Here's my last one. Number seven, surround yourself with people who strengthen your faith. Encouragement will help you to remain steadfast. This is the reason why I stick around Holy Ghost, tongue talking, water walking, fire, Holy Ghost people. When I surround myself with people of faith, they remind me that I'm talking doubt, I'm thinking doubt, and I'm not living or I'm having a relapse. This is why I love kingdom people. Man, they keep me on the straight and arrow. So, what what are the seven practical ways to hold on to God's precious uh promises? Know the promises, believe the promises, speak the promises, pray the promises, wait with expectation for the promises, remember God's faithfulness of those promises, and surround yourself with people who will strengthen your faith in God's promises. Hallelujah. Glory to God. Peter, as I told you, on one hand, I need you to hold up your left hand. Precious faith. Now I need you to hold up your right hand, please. Precious promises. He placed them side by side because they were never meant to be separated. Faith is the hand that receives, but the promises are what God places in that hand. The promises of God are tangible, they're not just spiritual. No, it is natural as well. From health to from wealth to peace of mind to uh to uh having a calm uh soul and joy. I'm trying to tell you something. There is a connection between the precious, uh, the the precious uh or I'm sorry, the preciousness of faith and the precious promises of God. We have exceedingly great and precious promises. I'm gonna challenge you to go and stay involved and stay in the note of God's promises. And one that you read, you must say out loud, that belongs for me, or that belongs to me and my family. This is a reason why I will never accept sickness, disease, curse, infirmity, poverty, um, uh, oppression, depression. I will listen, the the curse, I will never accept any of that again. You know why? Because God's word has given a promise. I'm the head and not to tail. And if I'm seated with Christ, I'm sorry, Satan has no authority in my life and in my family. This is the exceedingly great and precious promises that we have. I want to take a moment and again thank you for listening to this episode. I pray that the Lord has strengthened you, that your faith has grown, and that more above all else, you would get in the scriptures, go right down what the promises of God are and how they're still for you and I today, and say those are for me.
